The websites and social networks of Slipknot have gone black.
I’m not sure why, but the activity seems to indicate Slipknot’s up to something. Probably no good.
As you know, writing sessions for the band’s next album have been ongoing for months now, and in a new interview, frontman Corey Taylor says that “major” work will begin on the album in March.
A total of 17 demos have been completed for the new record, which Taylor says “is a cross between Iowa and Volume 3…, but that’s honestly just scratching the surface. I think the fans are going to be very, very excited when they hear this stuff.”
Lyrics are written, he says, “and it’s feeling pretty good. It feels like the story of the band so far, which is a totally different take on what I’ve been used to writing with Slipknot, but I think because of everything we’ve been through, it’s time to tell that story. It’s going to be everything you want in a Slipknot album, and everything you wouldn’t expect.”
Still no clue yet who the new drummer will be, as Joey Jordison split from the group late last year.
