Well, no shit. How many times can these dudes be asked the same question and give the same answer?
Yes, yes — Slipknot will one day return in some fashion, just as Joey Jordison and Corey Taylor have been saying…and one of the other 53 members of the band who I can’t remember. But now, even the DJ is getting grilled.
DJ Sid Wilson tells Billboard that, while the band haven’t spoken much since the sudden passing of bassist Paul Gray, they did have plans to return to the band before Gray’s death, so why should that change? After all, Joey can play guitar and one of their guitarists can play bass (or something like that), so they don’t have to replace him — and won’t.
“Before the incident, everyone was getting ready to take a break from Slipknot and go work on their side projects for a little bit,” says Sid. “Now we’re trying to move forward and keep with the plans that we had prior to the incident. When the time comes, forces will bring us back together again. But as of now, I can’t even predict when that will happen. It’s a magical thing, and you can’t predict magic. It just summons itself and pulls you all together.”
“Incident?” That’s a weird way of describing a drug overdose. You say “incident,” I say “sad situation.”
