He says Slipknot will not die.
I said the other day he doesn’t need Slipknot, being he’s accrued even more widespread appeal through his band Stone Sour.
I said without Joey, the rest of the group would likely collapse, especially if Corey bounced — and really, why wouldn’t he? Corey Taylor, the man, has almost become bigger than Slipknot, so doesn’t need them.
But Taylor says the end is not nigh.
“For those who think the Knot are falling apart, you are greatly and sadly mistaken,” Taylor says on Twitter.
“Bring on 2014. Great things are coming. Stay tuned…”
I was kind of hoping Slipknot would just go away. I’m not saying they’re terrible, but I think I’d rather listen to tape of kittens being dropped into blenders than another record from the Iowan metallers.
They’ve definitely been around longer than I ever anticipated.
I figured it was time to hang up the masks. I forgot the payday’s too large to just let something like Slipknot go out with dignity.
