Technical thrash metal dudes Powermad have enlisted Soilwork’s Dirk Verbeuren for their next full-length album.
Dirk has become a permanent member of Powermad and is currently with the band, writing material for their forthcoming CD. The band is rounded out by vocalist Joel DuBay, guitarist Todd Haug and bassist Jeff Litke, and there’s an eye towards a late 2011 release for the new disc.
Powermad’s forthcoming LP will be the band’s first in over 20 years. DuBay says that Powermad will “deliver on the expectations of [the band’s] cult-like fan base that [has] never left [their] musical ‘side.’” That’s direct, folks.
The last Powermad disc, Absolute Power, was released in 1989 and the band disappeared. In 2007, Powermad reunited for a show at the Bang Your Head!!! festival in Balingen, Germany. The reunion went so well, the band decided to write new stuff.
