Spineshank are back together. Remember them? I used to love me some Spineshank. So I guess I’d give new Spineshank a shot. Regardless, the original lineup of the band is back together, and they have a new album coming out this year.
Called Anger Denial Acceptance, the recently-completed new album will drop sometime this year, through an as-yet-undetermined record label. The CD was recorded at Mid City Sound studios in Burbank, California.
Three years ago, the band posted a new song called “Born Conform Repent” on their MySpace page. I am not sure if that song will be on the album or not. But my questions is: Are there any Spineshank fans left? I wonder. I think this band is going to have to win over a lot of younger fans if they’re going to stand a chance of coming back with a fury.
“First of all, you don’t have to worry about us abandoning our sound; there will be plenty of electronics/loops/synths on this record,” says drummer Tommy Decker. “Jonny [Santos] is also singing better than he ever has, so there will be a ton of singing and melody as well. This will definitely be heavier than our previous albums but it will not be all bashing. I can wholeheartedly promise you that we will not be trying to be anything we are not.”
