This, according to Staind frontman Aaron Lewis.
I think it’s time. It may have been time two records ago, even,
Lewis tells Billboard.com the band is planning to take a break in 2013.
Staind released its self-titled latest album in September 2011, and will be playing this summer’s RockStar Energy Drink Uproar Festival with Shinedown, Godsmack, and Papa Roach.
“The touring that we’ve done this year has been good,” Lewis says. “We’ve got this next tour and we might do something next year and then we’re going to take a little break for a second. We’re not breaking up. We’re not gonna stop making music. We’re just going to take a little hiatus that really hasn’t ever been taken in our career. We put out seven records in 14 years. We’ve been pretty busy.”
I happen to know one of the Staind guys, and not for nothing, they’re all pretty cool dudes. But a break is needed here. Maybe they’ll return with recharged batteries with something halfway heavy again.
