Death Ray Vision

Death Ray Vision — the awesome new side project from Killswitch Engage’s Mike D’Antonio, Brian Fair of Shadows Fall, and one other former member of Overcast — has been posting a new song a day this week from their new EP Get Lost or Get Dead, and now, you can now hear it in its glorious entirety over at the band’s Bandcamp page.

This album — especially the third track — made me feel like a 15-year-old angst-ridden kid again. This EP is fucking awesome, with sick riffs and Fair’s imposing pipes. You need to hear it, for reals son. The drums are crazy good, the bass, as thick as frozen ice cream…it’s awesome, and reminds me of Overcast.

Seriously. If you like to bang your head, you’ll dig this. According to Fair, Death Ray Vision’s sound won’t be so much metal as it will punk, incorporating “a sound based on our old school influences,” including the Cro-Mags, Integrity, Leeway, and Ringworm.

The band are book for this year’s installment of the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival; previously, it was thought the band would be making it’s live debut at the fest. Not so. The band have booked a gig at Vegas Lounge in Lunenburg, Massachusetts, for April 8 with Angel Dust opening. The band is also rolling out a bunch of live dates, including an April 22 gig at Ralph’s Rock Diner in Worcester, Massachusetts, with Nightbitch and another April 23 at the Church of Boston.
