Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen either wants to sign Trivium or just likes to rub shit in people’s faces. Maybe he’s just trying to start a beef.
I’m not sure which. All’s I know is, the dude doesn’t do interviews with the press. That’s a little odd. That strikes me as suspect, but I digress.
Avildsen — who routinely speaks his mind, which is something I can both relate to and appreciate — has issued…I don’t know what you’d call it.
A response? A retort? I mean, Matt Heafy, Trivium’s frontman, was addressing the music industry as a whole when he posted an image of his pittance of a royalty check online the other day.
Not sure why Ash feels like he needs to speak for the entire music industry, or whether this is just his way of boasting. Either way, this is what he Tweeted the other day.
“@BenAfuckingA @DannyAfuckingA you should tweet your six figure royalty check to show Trivium how the Sphinx does it,” the Tweet reads. “Music is still alive.”
That message, of course, was directed at two dudes in the biggest band on Ash’s label, Asking Alexandria.
If pressed for an opinion on Asking Alexandria, I’d likely just poop in your hand.
That pretty much sums ‘er up.
