Yes, the same Body Count featuring Ice-mothafuckin’-T from “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.”
This should come as no surprise. Years ago, Sumerian signed Bizzy Bone, one of the dudes from Bone Thugs N Harmony. I don’t know that an album was ever produced from that pairing, but sure shows that Sumerian will sign just about anything.
Body Count now being on their roster makes them perhaps the most bizarre metal-like label out there right now.
I can’t say they’re a metal label, because they’re not.
I remember when I was at MTV in ’06, Body Count released an awful turd of an album on Escapi Music called Murder 4 Hire. It was so bad, and they were trying to get me to do an interview with Ice-T.
I couldn’t bring myself to do it.
Body Count — who ironically became known for that “Cop Killer” song, and now Ice plays a cop on TV — will begin production on their next album in January, with a late-2013 release expected.
