If you’re a System of a Down fan, then you’ve obviously heard by now that the band is regrouping for a series of European gigs this summer. So far, they’ve scheduled not a single American gig.
Get excited, folks — the band is back in action, according to bassist Shavo Odadjian. He recently took to Twitter to reveal the good news: “Just finished up our first rehearsal in 5 years. Amazing!!! I love my band.”
I bet they still sound great after all this time. I can tell you this with honesty: I never thought this band would reconvene, having covered those dudes at MTV News for years. I thought that was it.
But, they’re back. And they’ve booked yet another gig, in Moscow, Russia, on June 21. Rad. When are we going to get some U.S. dates, System? Why do bands do that? They get back together, and they go to Europe and do reunion shows there. What’s up with that? Even The Big Four is — with the exception of one stupid show — a Euro exclusive.
Give America what it wants, System. Do a tour here. This summer. In fact, maybe they will. Maybe System will do their own tour this summer…their own festival. That would be sick. I’d love to see a Rage Against the Machine and System double-bill. That would be righteous, buddy.
