The Black Moriah Release Debut LP

The Black Moriah

A while back, we featured The Black Moriah in our Readers’ Bands column and since then, the good dudes in the group have sent me a copy of their strong debut, Casket Prospects.

Forgetting that the band boasts a former member of Absu, I brought the CD into my car and cranked that shit. Five listens later, and I am fucking shocked this band hasn’t been snatched up by an underground indie label.

Frontman Zawicizuz (who was in Absu, as well as Bleed the Son and Infernal Oak) sent the disc my way. For me, having a physical copy of the album gives me reason to actually listen to something.

It is now a staple of my current six-CD car rotation.

The album’s a pretty ferocious collection of raw, underproduced blackened thrash that’s superb.

Casket Prospects is available now.

Just consider this a friendly reminder, and a Readers’ Bands follow-up.
