The Showdown Debut Another New Album Cut

The Showdown

And yeah, it’s pretty tough, teeming with riffs, and thrashy. Again, not what you’d expect from a bunch of Christian dudes. So deceiving, they are. The song is called “No Escape” and its the fourth track from the Tennessean metal act to make its way online.

You can hear “Bring It Down,” “Heavy Lies the Crown,” and the title track from the forthcoming album Blood in the Gears all over on the band’s MySpace page. This LP title reminds me of the now-defunct band Bodies in the Gears of the Apparatus.

Frontman David Bunton says the new disc is “true to what The Showdown has always been about in the past: heavy, thrashy, southern, groovy. We are sounding like we want to and saying exactly what we want to. That’s what heavy metal is all about.”

Agreed, Bunty…agreed. The followup to A Chorus of Obliteration drops August 24. Oh and here’s a trailer for the new album.
