You know…The Soulless!?! The artists previously-known as Ignominious Incarceration? Yeah, those guys. Well, they’re coming back, new name and all, with a new album this coming spring and according to the band’s site, they’ve booked some studio time late this year to track the effort.
The Soulless will enter Outhouse Studios in Reading, England, on December 15 with producer John Mitchell, who has worked with Enter Shikari and Architects. The disc should be ready for release in April through Earache.
“We couldn’t be more excited about going into the studio,” says frontman Andy Wardle. “We were supposed to be going in in September, but because of the accident it had to be put back. So we’ve been waiting a long time to get in there! We have used our time well, however, to really tweak all the tracks and we are very happy with the result. We are also looking forward to working with the guys at Outhouse as we think they can really deliver the sound we want for this album.”
What accident? Did someone make poo-poo in their pants? Back when the band revealed they were changing their name, they said in a statement that they “started to get gigs and we started to take the band way more seriously as we discovered how much fun we could have. We did our first tour with Trigger The Bloodshed and this was when we were first approached by Earache Records. This was a real turning point for the band and we realized we could make something of it. We debated changing the name whilst recording Of Winter Born, but chose to stick with it. We don’t regret doing this as it is what represented the band at the time.”
Then, they realized their name was dumb and changed it.
