There has been some confusion as of late regarding the status of Downset. and its lineup. Are the original members of the band back together, or is there a newer version of the band active?

The answer is yes.

Like Queensrÿche and Entombed before them, it now appears there are two versions of Downset.

The Downset. booked to play the 2014 This Is Hardcore Fest at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia this July will feature the band’s “classic” lineup of vocalist Rey Opropeza, guitarist Ares Schwager, bass player James Morris and kitman Chris Hamilton.

That version of the band has been working on a new album with producer Drew Mazurek for release this summer.

The other Downset. has a bunch of European shows booked for the summer, and boasts Neil Roemer on vocals, Rogelio Lozano on guitar, bassist J.D. Manhart, and drummer Chris Lee.

So, maybe now you’re no longer confused. Or perhaps you are more confused than ever before.
