Handshake Inc. will announce the third and final chapter in the “Maryland Deathfest: The Movie” series, it has been announced.
Shot over four blistering hot and metal-fueled days at the Sonar Compound in Baltimore, Maryland, during the 10th anniversary of the fest, the film will be available on DVD and Blu-ray May 24 — the first day of Maryland Deathfest XI.
The three-hour-plus film includes performances by Church of Misery, Yob, St. Vitus, Dragged Into Sunlight, The Devil’s Blood, Today is the Day, Rwake, Anvil, Winter, Noothgrush, Ghoul, Absu, Brujeria, Black Witchery, Cough, Electric Wizard, Coke Bust, Nasum, Godflesh, Napalm Death, Rorscach, Unsane, Die Pigeon Die and more killer bands.
The DVD also includes an interview reel with bands conducted by Richard Johnson (Drugs of Faith, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Enemy Soil).
“This is the one where everything came together,” said producer and director David Hall of Handshake Inc., speaking about the new MDF film.
“We had the right crew, so the audio and video quality of the bands is phenomenal. We shot with DSLRs and RED cameras, and had an audio engineer to record the outside stages, and the results are stunning. The bands have been very enthusiastic about their performances too, so I seriously can’t wait for people to see and hear everything.”
The two-disc set will be available for purchase exclusively at MDF XI, and online though Handshake Inc.’s online store starting May 24.
