Now, this is an album I can not wait to hear. As a fan of Jesse Leach-era Killswitch Engage, how could I not be psyched. Today, Roadrunner Records revealed they’ve signed Times of Grace, the new metal band featuring Killswitch’s Adam Dutkiewicz and former Killswitch frontman Leach.
According to the release, Times of Grace “finds the duo taking a creative left turn, boldly exploring new musical terrain, while fearlessly digging deep into the recesses of their musical synergy. It has yielded a provocative, heavy-yet-melodic result, one that helped each of them overcome personal struggles and emerge from the darkness, more empowered than ever.” Sounds sick.
The band’s debut, The Hymn of a Broken Man, drops November 9 through Roadrunner Records. But people should not approach this new project thinking its going to be Alive or Just Breathing II: It won’t sound anything like it, the release says. I doubt that. A while back, Leach told me that the Times of Grace LP “is the album of our careers. We wanted to make the Abbey Road of metal albums. We didn’t want to hold back. We wanted to add layers and textures and vocals … everything we could possibly put into this album. We just decided we were going to full-on make a masterpiece. And we did.”
The disc will feature a dozen songs, including “Strength in Numbers,” “Where The Spirit Leads Me,” “Until The End Of Days,” and “The End of Eternity.”
