In fact, not too long ago, Tombs — who are just heavier than Billy Milano’s left ass cheek — and Planks released a split twelve-inch in Europe through PruegelprinzRecords. I haven’t heard it but I’m sure you can get it as an import. If you do, write a review of it for me.
Actually, I think I’ll get a copy when the tour ends August 22 in Brooklyn. Surely, Tombs will have copies of the vinyl. You should get a copy too when you go see Tombs. Oh yes, you will go see Tombs. Because, let’s be honest: Tombs are just one of a handful of bands from Brooklyn not comprised of butt dart hipsters. They’re the best thing to come out of New York since flagels.
Man, New York was once a bastion of ballsy fucking music. The hardcore scene was vibrant, both in the boroughs and on Long Island. Type O Negative and Life of Agony were fucking shit up. CBGB was still open. A soda pop only set you back a shiny nickel. Now I’m just dating myself. Alas, New York has been Vampire Weekend-ed. So, uh, yeah, here’s them tour dates:
August 12: Bethlehem, PA – Secret Arts Space
August 13: Philadelphia, PA – Broad Street Ministries
August 14: Richmond, VA – Grey Matter
August 15: Greensboro, NC – Legitimate Business
August 16: Nashville, TN – The Muse
August 17: Memphis, TN – The Buccaneer
August 18: Columbia, MO – Mojo’s
August 19: Chicago, IL – The Metal Shaker
August 20: Indianapolis, IN – The Dojo
August 22: Lansing, MI – Mac’s
August 22: Brooklyn, NY – Death By Audio
