Turisas Shoot “Mad Max” Inspired Video

This is rad, because it just so happens I like battle metallers Turisas — you know, the folk metal dudes from Finland, currently touring North America for the first time with Cradle of Filth and Nachtmystium — and I love “Mad Max,” the dystopian action flick starring Mel Gibson…before dude showed his anti-Semitic, racist side.

It makes sense. I mean, look at Turisas. If you are even remotely familiar with “Mad Max,” you know they almost look like they could’ve stepped out of the film.

Turisas will release their new disc, Stand Up and Fight, on March 8. According to a press release, Turisas recently “stopped in the desert with director Iain Sclater to shoot an epic new video for the album’s title track.”

The video was heavily influenced by “Mad Max” and the band’s own image. It is the first time the guys have filmed a video in the U.S.

I am actually looking forward to this video. Turisas, in a land with no rules, and dangerous weapons and futuristic vehicles of pure destruction? Sign me the fuck up.
