I hope the Earth is swallowed by the sun before then, so I don’t have to listen to more watered-down Metallica bullshit.
Earlier this week, Channel24 spoke with Metallica’s drummer, baby man Lars Ulrich, in Cape Town when the band returned to South Africa for three shows.
Asked when fans can expect to hear a new Metallica album, Ulrich said, “It would surprise me if the next full-length Metallica record would come out before 2015.”
OK. He said full-length. Is that to imply an EP is perhaps coming? I wonder. Let me ponder.
“It takes us awhile to make records, and we’re also so busy with so many other things. But we’ll get around to it eventually.”
Eventually? Don’t bother.
There are so many awesome new bands out there that, honestly, Metallica could just become a legacy act, tour and play their back catalogue, all the while not releasing new music, and I am sure people would appreciate them a hell of a lot more.
