Under The Radar: Creator|Destroyer

Texas band specializes in grimy guitar, bass tones

Do you like your crust punk to be so fast there’s a chance the guitarist, bassist, and drummer might break their wrists while playing?

Do you like your crust vocalists to sound like rabid hounds?

Are you comfortable with grimy guitar and bass tones?

If so, behold Creator|Destroyer. Hailing from Dallas, Texas, these scummy road-dogs are destined for grindcore greatness.

They’ve released one demo and it’s reminiscent of really old Pig Destroyer, Insect Warfare, and Agathocles.

What’s surprising, though, is that Creator|Destroyer seem really young; I wouldn’t place any of them older than 20, and they’re already doing some pretty rad stuff. What kind of rad stuff?

I dunno, like touring with the mighty Despise You, playing with Weekend Nachos, ya know, that kind of stuff. I saw them on their stop in Little Rock with Despise You last year, and both those bands just leveled the place. My boys in Snakedriver didn’t do so shabby either.

Hopefully they’ll churn out at least an EP soon.

I really want a new CD to crank in my truck as I peel out of the law school parking lot after class.
