Imagine if Underoath — a Christian metalcore band that wears girl jeans and have girl haircuts — released an album named Hell, just for the sake of irony? That would be kind of awesome. And perhaps then I’d have some interest in them again.
Unfortunately, for now, we don’t know what the next Underoath record will be called, because this is what happens nowadays. Everyone releases information bit by bit, so that blogs like Gun Shy Assassin and Absolute Punk will keep mentioning them every week or so. Its insane. So this week, we get the release date: October 26.
Gee. Couldn’t you just have waited to give us this information until you had an album title? I mean, what the hell? Next, in about a week or so, we’ll get the album title. Next, we’ll get the track listing and then Noisejerks will premiere their lame video, and then someone will get to stream the album. This is how the machine works. This is how they get you.
Underoath’s next album [Edit: Come back next week for that news] was produced by Matt Goldman — who has worked with The Chariot — and Jeremy Griffith, responsible for one of Norma Jean’s albums. Oh, and there will be a deluxe edition of the new LP available on the same day.
And boys, take the title: Hell. Just imagine how people would react, and the “props” you would get from people you don’t care about. People like me. Its all yours. Just remember to thank me in and the site in the liner notes.
