That’s right. That awful band Underoath have been in the studio as of late, working on two new songs.
But no one cares.
I’d rather discuss the amazing Gojira show last night at Santos Party House, a tiny venue I typically try to avoid because it’s owned by that dirtbag Andrew W.K.
Well, before Gojira, this band Car Bomb played. I guess they’re trying to be a grindcore band, with a bunch of stop-start parts…I thought their songs were over at least ten times before they actually were.
The place was packed, but my crew managed to secure a sweet spot near the front of the stage, right below the air conditioner. Nice.
I was literally shocked at how close we were to the band, as well as the utter fucking lack of security. You would have thought Santos was in Prague; drunks, dumb kids, and even adventurous ladies managed to mount the stage, and hang out for up to 30 seconds before diving into a willing crowd.
I hadn’t ever seen Gojira before last night, but they were loud as fuck, and totally tight. I left thoroughly satisfied, which I haven’t been able to say in a long time about a show.
If Gojira are coming to your town, you should totally make a point of going to see them. They literally killed it.
