I’ve gotta admit it: the 90-second sample of “China Town,” which you’ll find at the end of this post, kind of caught me off guard.
I mean, I went into it expecting Van Halen — classic Van Halen — but instead, I heard something that sounded more like bad Bleeding Through. Which is bad, seeing as there is no good Bleeding Through.
Of course, “China Town” comes from Van Halen’s long-awaited new album, A Different Kind Of Truth, which drops February 7 through Interscope.
I would bet that this song indicates Wolfgang’s influence on the new Van Halen record. He’s young; he probably encouraged this kind of a move.
Not sure it works, but I applaud the effort nevertheless. What do you guys think? Tell us in the comments section below, or join us on Facebook, where you don’t have to wait for your insults to be approved first.
