Not only did Metallica perform a complete set (with encore tunes) at the Apollo Theater in Harlem Saturday night, they were also in Yankee Stadium on Sunday for a much-rumored performance of “Enter Sandman.”
You can see video from the Apollo set (which marked the first time the building had ever been overrun entirely by crackers) and footage from the Yankee Stadium appearance at the end of this post.
‘Tallica’s performance at the stadium honored retiring Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera prior to their game against the San Francisco Giants, Metallica’s hometown team.
Rivera has exited the bullpen to close out games for many years to “Enter Sandman.”
That’s because he puts batters to bed, motherfucker.
