Yes, that’s right — his blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit, yet Vince Neil is fighting the D.U.I. charges against him, stemming from his arrest in Las Vegas back in late June. So, that means he probably wasn’t offered some sort of a plea, and is banking on his status as one of the architects of “Girls, Girls, Girls” to bail him out.
Vince’s trial begins January 6. In addition to the drunk driving rap, he also faces a charge of speeding for driving — according to police records — 25 miles over the speed limit. Vince’s lawyer entered the pleas in open court for his client; Vince was probably too busy getting loaded somewhere to show up for his court appearance.
Funny that Vince plead not guilty as, just two days after he was collared, he gave an interview in which he stated — and I quote — “I shouldn’t have been driving. I should have gotten a limo from the Hilton.” Hmm, I wonder if that’ll come up during trial. Or the fact that he has a history. In 1984, dude drove hammered and killed Razzle from Hanoi Rocks. Douche bag.
Oh, and the police also claim Vince failed three — count ‘em — three field sobriety tests. Neil — whose recent disc had a title with the word “tequila” in it — was also arrested back in 2007 on a DUI charge, but was able to work out a plea agreement back then. Guess lightning doesn’t always strike twice.
