What can you say about Vinnie Paul? He’s a legend, and was part of what I would argue was one of metal’s ten all-time greatest bands.
I met the man twice. He was humble and chill and I thought he was pretty great.
Do I give Vinnie a hard time for being in HellYeah? You bet I do. Because that band’s worse than when you burn the roof of your mouth with piping hoy pizza, and then that skin flap hangs down for a week and you play with it with your tongue. I think it’s sad that he has to be in such an inferior band, just to keep shit interesting.
Anyways, Vinnie is kind of like you and me. Or me, at least.
He loves the Deftones’ White Pony album.
He was in Seattle recently and was hanging with the producer of the album and most of Pantera’s albums, Terry Date.
“He’s also done sound garden, overkill, korn whitezombie and my favorite record WHITE PONY BY DEFTONES!!,” writes Vinnie.
Dude. Either go with the lower case thing and embrace it, or go with the Caps Lock a la David Draiman thing, and embrace that. Don’t do both.
