Vinnie Paul Says Pantera Reunion Without Dime Would “Tarnish” Band’s Legacy

Vinnie Paul

I agree with Vinnie Paul.

Sure, there was talk a month or three ago about Zakk Wylde taking over for Dimebag in a bastardized Pantera reunion, but that would be gross. Just gross.

Vinnie gets that, and tells Ned of WGRD 97.9 FM in Grand Rapids, Michigan, it won’t be happening.

“I think the bottom line is Zakk’s a great friend of mine. Obviously, he was a really great friend of Dime’s. But the truth of the matter is Dime was Pantera,” Vinnie explains.

“He was such a huge part of it, and I just think it would tarnish the legacy of the band and everything that he was all about to try to have somebody else get up there and play,” he adds. “That’s how I feel about it. I’m very, very proud and happy to be doing what I’m doing with HellYeah. It’s called moving on in your life. You’ve gotta move forward, and that’s what I’m doing.”

By the way, if anything is tarnishing Pantera’s legacy, it’s HellYeah.

I still can’t believe that Vinnie Paul’s actively and willingly participating in that project. No shit.
