At this point, let’s just all agree to stop asking Vinnie Paul Abbott about Pantera reuniting, OK? I mean, the dude’s made it abundantly clear he’s not ready for that shit to go down. When and if he does have a change of heart, I am sure he will let us know.
Let Puff of 99X Radio be the last dude to ask Vinnie about Pantera’s reunion. Let’s let him have that honor, shall we?
VP tells Puff:
“The legacy of [Pantera] is pretty amazing, and I don’t want it ever being tarnished by any kind of hack version of the band going out there. It’s not the same without Dime being a part of it. And I think it’s just great history and we need to leave it alone, and everybody that was part of it needs to move on.”
He later told Puff:
“I live for the future, not the past. A lot of people are really hung on the past — they can’t get past that — but you’ve gotta get past that if you want any future. So I’m really happy with where I’m at right now. And Pantera really made a mark in heavy metal music history.”
So there. Let’s leave it at that. From now on, only questions about HellYeah and strip clubs for Vinnie.
