This day may be too good to be true. First we learn that the new High On Fire’s coming in April. Now comes word that one of my favorite bands of all time — Vision of Disorder — has inked a new record deal.
New record deals mean new records. Yes, we have known for a clown’s age that Vision of Disorder have been working on new shit. But now, we know that new shit will actually surface.
If you don’t know V.O.D. or don’t dig them at all, you can not be my friend.
V.O.D. will enter the studio in the next month or so with producer Will Putney (who has worked with Shadows Fall and Suicide Silence.
Look for the new record to drop late this year.
“Before the word ‘metalcore’ existed… Vision of Disorder did,” comments the band. “We did what we did because we loved it, not because we thought others might. 20 years later, we’re once again at work with the same approach.
“After a newly inked deal [with] Candlelight Records, we are about to begin tracking on our first studio album in a decade. We are bringing all the elements of what made us unique and ferocious to the table.
“Playing reunion shows over the past few years and seeing such positive responses has truly been inspirational. This album is absolutely dedicated to our fans that have stuck by us through our ups and downs. Without them, it would not have been.
“We are excited to be a part of the Candlelight roster,” says Vision of Disorder. “They were a perfect choice for us. After numerous record label woes, it was refreshing to partner with people that are passionate about music — not just profit or agenda.”
Man, I don’t think I can wait until late 2012 for new V.O.D. So in the meantime, here’s a sweet demo.
