Swedish death metal outfit Vomitory have entered Leon Music Studios outside Karlstad, Sweden, to start recording material for their eighth full-length album, which will drop in the spring through Metal Blade Records.
The album is being produced by Rikard Löfgren. So far, the drum tracks to two songs have been laid down. Fans can oversee the albums progress through the band’s studio diary, available here.
The band recently posted a cover of Napalm Death’s “Mass Appeal Madness,” which they’d recorded back in 2005. “We have had this little piece of brutality laying in our digital drawer, and we admit it’s a shame it hasn’t seen the light of day until now.”
The song was recorded for a Napalm Death tribute album that never came to fruition. Vomitory’s last release, Carnage Euphoria, which dropped in May 2009.
