Wait, I see what they did there…they just took out all of the vowels and now it’s just VYGR. I wonder why? Voyager is a pretty sick name. Not like Ignominious Incarceration. Oh wait, there’s an explanation for it. In a post on their Web site, the band claims “we’ve achieved a plane of existance [Edit: It’s existence] in which use of vowels is no longer constructive.”
VYGR have a new album on the way called Hypersleep, which they’ll release on January 25 through Creator-Destructor Records. After the jump, you need to check out this new track from the disc called “Shapeshifters.” It is a fucking sick song. Would remind you of early Isis.
The disc was tracked at Planet Z Recording studios with acclaimed producer Zeuss. The band says that “a conscious effort was made to incorporate more intricate melody and dynamics, including sci-fi soundtrack ambience, ‘90s space rock elements, and plenty of delay-soaked guitar leads.”
