Sanctuary, who’ve recently reunited and boast current Nevermore frontman Warrel Dane and bassist Jim Sheppard, is said to be working on material for a new album which could be out in early 2012.
Dane says the new Sanctuary songs are “monumental” and claims guitarist Lenny Rutledge “is writing some amazing thrash [that is] gonna cut your brains in half.”
But don’t take this as a sign that Nevermore are done — even if guitar player Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams bounced back in April. Warrel says “Nevermore is not dead” and that “Sanctuary is just the focus now, and oh, holy shit, when you hear [the new material], you will know why.”
Dane also teased a major Sanctuary announcement, which he said would be coming in the next few days.
I can’t see a Nevermore without Loomis, but that’s just me.
