Watain Release First Music Video

Never in my life did would I have imagined Watain — as sinister as they used to seem to me — would ever A.) Take glossy band photos without their grim-ass makeup, and B.) Make a fucking music video.

Thanks to Century Media, both happened in 2013.

See Watain’s first foray into the music video world at the end of this post.

They shot a clip for the tune “Outlaw,” which isn’t a half-bad song.

I just thought The Wild Hunt was a little underwhelming, is all.

The group worked on the video with Johan Bååth.

Says the band:

“The ‘Outlaw’ video is a knife stab in the face of today’s clean and witty metal scene and yet another step for us to bring back something real and extreme into this limping music movement.”

It’s also a sign that black metal can be bought, and money changes everything.
