Yes, folks — that’s right. The bad news we got yesterday about Behemoth frontman Nergal’s illness forcing the band to cancel its upcoming run with Watain, but today, we get some good news: Watain are still coming ashore.
Because Watain can not be stopped. The band says in a statement that “there is no escape — we are coming.” While exact dates and venues will be announced shortly, Watain issued the statement to “put an end to rumors and speculations regarding” how Behemoth’s decision would impact their impending touring plans.
This is awesome. I sort of figured Watain would still make it over and I’m glad. There’s demand for Watain here. In fact, I’d go out on a limb and say I was actually more excited to see Watain than Behemoth on that tour that was set for this fall. If you haven’t already, you need to listen to Watain’s new disc, Lawless Darkness. Its magic, its tragic, it’s a loss, its a win. Its is one of my favorite discs of 2010 and it’ll probably make a lot o year-end lists.
