It’s cool to see old school pictures of Lamb of God. Dope to see my boy Chris Adler on camera, talking about one of my all-time favorite records.
It was even cool seeing Devin Townsend, my hero, discussing the genesis of this now-classic metal LP.
And that was just the first three minutes.
The documentary focuses on the making of the band’s album As The Palaces Burn, which was re-released today. There is another doc in the works about Randy Blythe’s criminal case, but that’s something different.
But let me just tell you: I thought there was no way to improve on Palaces. But I was wrong. Dead wrong.
The revamp almost sounds like a different album, now that Josh Wilbur’s given it a second set of ears and a fresh look at it.
I’m hearing stuff I didn’t hear on the original master of the album.
