The other day, a reader asked me on Facebook for my opinion of Wovenwar, the new band that’s basically As I Lay Dying, without Tim Lambesis.
I said I think the dudes need to carry on, but that I don’t really understand the appeal of their music.
The following song reinforces this confusion for me.
I mean, the music’s alright. But that vocalist…I just can’t get behind those vocals, and you’re looking at a guy who, at times, has listened to some straight-up girly shit in his life.
Like Coheed and Cambria, for example. Thursday’s an even better one.
Guess there’s a reason I don’t listen to Oh, Sleeper: Shane Blay, who fronts both bands.
Wovenwar’s self-titled CD was produced by Bill Stevenson and mixed by Colin Richardson, and comes out this August.
The following song is called “The Mason.” I wonder if its about my grandfather.
