That there is the artwork for Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based space rock duo Zombi’s forthcoming new album, Escape Velocity. Nice ass, right? And a sweet-ass DeLorean.
The follow-up to 2009’s Spirit Animal was recorded in part by Zombi’s Steve Moore and A.E. Paterra in Pittsburgh and Nyack, New York. There was a time in my life where I used to drive my Nyack all the time on my way to school. Nyack…it’s fun to say. Nyack. Nyack.
The album was mastered by Denis Blackham (who has worked with The Who and Led Zeppelin) at Skye Mastering in Scotland. Escape Velocity will be landing in stores May 10. Audio sample will be posted soon on the band’s Web site.
“I think the album came together exactly as planned, considering we had no plan,” Morse said. “In fact I’m not even sure we knew we were making an album. Actually I can’t remember at all. Anyway it’s Jeremy’s artwork that really ties it all together. Naked women, sports cars, mid-century modern architecture, space. The boy’s a Shakespeare.”
You’ve got to love naked women. That album cover looks like it was jacked straight from a 1970s prog rock band’s artwork. That ass makes me miss my girlfriend.
