Remember Zyklon? No, Zyklon wasn’t one of the Decepticons, but a Norwegian blackened death metal outfit that formed in 1998 and officially disbanded back in January. Zyklon featured two members of Emperor, and had slight industrial twinges to it, as well. My buddy The Goat introduced me to them.
HAIL! Zyklon, once again proving that if it comes from Norway, it’s probably awesome.
Now, Candlelight Records is releasing a Zyklon box set out of the blue next week called The Storm Manifesto . The set will feature all three of Zyklon’s records (2001‘s World Ov Worms, 2003‘s Aeon and 2006‘s Disintegrate) along with bonus material…some of it, never-before-heard. There are also several videos contained in the package.
Zyklon’s last official performance happened on September 28, 2007, in Japan. The band offered no official reason for its dissolution, and the band’s various members remain active in the metal realm.
